Working Out Salvation
2004-02-16 - 2:45 a.m.

I was thinking about salvation the other day. You know that scripture where it says, "work out your own salvation with fear and trembling"?

Well, how I think that scripture is to be interpreted is this:

Imagine a rice pudding. You put a dollop of jam (thats jelly to Americans) in it, and then stir it so the jam goes throughout and the whole thing goes pink. We're like the rice pudding - God puts a dollop of salvation on us, so we contain salvation, and we are saved, but He helps us to stir in that salvation, changing us throughout. Thats what I think it means by working out your salvation, producing works, being changed by being saved.
